Loved how homey this place felt, the owner was a great host , Food on point, Takes some time but definitely worth the wait.

"Best meal in Bentota"

We stumbled upon Trax restaurant on our way to a neighbouring restaurant and decided to give Trax a go as the restaurant had a clean minimal ambiance that appealed to us. The owner welcomed us and all staff were friendly. The vegetable curry was a highlight for me, tho my partner ordered a carbonara pasta and that was delicious too! 
The food was so good we went back again the following night and were greeted with the same warm hospitality we had experienced the previous evening. We ordered a vegetarian curry again and a chicken curry which both exceeded our expectations. Both meals were the best we had enjoyed in Sri Lanka. The complimentary rotti was very tasty as well. 

The food and drinks are very well priced and won't break any budget. Just remember to bring cash as they currently don't have 'card' facilities - the owner mentioned that card facilities will be available in the future. 

The only negative point was that we didn't discover this place earlier in our visit as we would have been able to try more items on the menu. 

When visiting Bentota, be sure to give this restaurant a try - you won't be disappointed!

"Fresh fish as it should be"

Having been directed to a 'recommended' restaurant which we decided was too expensive (and pretentious), we found Trax just below and decided to give them a try. Only open 3 months, they are keen to impress, so having ordered the fish platter to share (crabs, jumbo prawns, squid, whole fish, rice), we were treated to garlic roti and ice cream 'on the house'. All the seafood was extremely fresh, perfectly cooked and more than enough for two. And at 3500 Rs, we felt excellent value for money. Check it out, before table reservations become the norm.
